I chose Tweedledee & Tweedledum as my design inspiration and this is what we came up with:

I really must thank my mother for doing most of the work in just about three days.

In the meantime, Team Wererabbit (a.k.a. my mother and I) joined the inspiring Blythe Runway Challenge on Flickr.
Each month 25 creative Blythe people will be assigned a new fashion challenge to complete and submit to a panel of judges.

The February challenge involved redesigning a stock Takara outfit. It was a really clever theme for a first challenge, and a lot of fun to work on and to follow on Flickr as contestants progressed to the finished outfits.

I chose Fruit Punch as my guinea pig.
After all these years, she’s still one of my favorite Takara Blythes. I love her Twiggiesque short bright hair – and I loved her concept too, in sketch, but the actual outfit didn’t live up to expectations.
Poor FruPu, she really didn’t deserve those ugly blue polyester pants!

I wanted her new design to have a fresh, summery feel and a retro late 60s/early 70s vibe.
We gave her two outfits, like stock Fruit Punch had – a trouser suit and a cocktail dress.

Bözsi was really chuffed that she got to wear the lovely Tonttu hat.
She seemes a bit wary of the snow though.

Umeshu went exploring, channelling Smurfette.

My friend Eva made her hat. It matches MRM’s stock coat so well!

What I enjoyed the most out of the doll show was the Dolly Delicious Blythe exhibition set up by Teddy, Charlie, Pao and yours truly with the help and contribution of several friends.
My mother and I made 4 outfits for the display, which was themed around sweets and cakes. Not our usual style, but I enjoyed working with a theme immensely.
